The Basics

The tropical hibiscus 'Jane Cowl' produces double, sweet coral-pink blossoms. Each petal is wavy and ruffled, having a crepe paper texture and are a stronger pink at the base. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is an evergreen shrub that originates from China, and 'Jane Cowl' is a hybrid derived from two cultivated varieties. This tropical hibiscus is vigorous and blooms well over an extended period of time.

Amount of Sunlight: Full sun / Partial Sun

Amount of Water: Needs regular watering - weekly, or more often in extreme heat.

Soil Conditions: Well drained

Cold Hardiness Zone: 10-11


The Care

Provide well drained soil. Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Watering can be reduced after establishment. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Pruning time: spring.
