Wichita Blue Upright Juniper
The Basics
This upright evergreen’s glowing silver-blue foliage persists throughout the year. Its broadly, pyramidal growth habit reaches 10-15 feet tall(4-6 feet wide). Its size and density make it ideally used as a hedge, screen, specimen plant, background, and windbreak.
The Needs
Amount of Sunlight: Thrives in full sun; Tolerates shade
Amount of Water: Water regularly; more frequent watering in extreme heat; Drought tolerant
Soil Conditions: Adaptable to most soils; Prefers dry, well-drained soil; Not tolerant of overly wet soil
Cold Hardiness Zone: 3-7
The Care
This low-maintenance, upright evergreen needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Shear annually to maintain desired shape. Pruning is not required.
